Upcoming Mafia Games

Okay, I want to see how this will work, since it's heavily dependent on whether or not people are willing to play the game seriously or not (and, of course, if there is enough interest). Activity is key in this kind of game, as you're expected to socialize and negotiate with others in order to play at your fullest. Mafia is a strategical game - you need to be willing (and are expected) to do anything in your power in order to win. People are going to lie to you - do not be naive. People may be using you for their own benefits - do not let others lead you mindlessly. Shit's harder and more complicated than you think.

In the basic of mafia games are two types of factions: 'Mafia' and 'Village'. A 'Mafia Faction' is an informed minority that usually finds enemies in the Village Faction(s) - the uninformed majority that is aiming to hunt them down. These groups usually win together, so you'd be best to find your allies if you are part of an uninformed group (as informed groups are aware of their allies). Sometimes, you have allies from other factions that are not hostile to you - these can be neutrals or, hell, another faction. This is why negotiating is so important in these games, as neutrals are not set in stone - they may as well work for the enemy faction if you don't act as a reliable partner to that neutral's needs.

I won't go overboard here - the best way to learn the game is by playing it, therefore I am planning on hosting a beginners game. But, for me to do this, I have to see that there are indeed enough players willing to play. This is the purpose of this thread - if all this interests you, feel free to let me know through a simple post in the thread. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Another thing I want to be clear is this - I like playing just as much as hosting (or rather, a whole lot more, hosting sucks), therefore don't depend on me for hosting future games. If this becomes an interest, other players are free to announce their own game. For now, one game at a time will suffice.

I haven't explained the game in the slightest - and I am aware of this. If you are interested, just check the wiki I posted a while back in the Game Game thread. Or, again, just post with your questions.

So from this I conclude that there is no interest. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
